M² Business Solutions was born out of something deeply personal: over four decades of hands-on experience helping small businesses and nonprofits do more with less. Founded by sister-and-brother team Kim and Paul Mercier, M² was created to meet a need we saw time and again — passionate organizations stretched too thin, struggling to manage HR, fundraising, operations, marketing, and growth without the resources to bring in full-time help.
We stepped in to be that help — providing smart, flexible, affordable solutions that empower our clients to move forward with purpose and clarity.
Meet Kim & Paul Mercier
As Yoopers and lifelong natives of Manistique, Michigan, Kim and Paul Mercier, built M² Business Solutions with deep roots and deeper purpose. With over 44 years of combined experience in business development, nonprofit leadership, fund development, and strategic marketing, they bring a unique blend of hands-on expertise and hometown heart to every client relationship.
Their backgrounds span everything from grant writing and branding to program development, operations, and bookkeeping — but it’s their shared values that truly define their work. As a family led team, Kim and Paul believe in showing up with honesty, compassion, and a genuine commitment to the people and communities they serve.

Hi, I’m Kim Mercier — a strategist, certified fundraising executive, and nonprofit leader with a heart for helping mission-driven people grow what matters.
For over 20 years, I’ve worked alongside nonprofits, tribal governments, and small businesses to help them navigate challenges, unlock funding, and build sustainable success. I’ve led organizations through major transformations — tripling budgets, launching programs that change lives, and building systems that last.
What drives me is seeing changemakers bring their vision to life. Whether I’m writing a game-changing grant, guiding a strategic planning session, or helping a founder realign their brand with their values, I bring clarity, creativity, and a deep commitment to long-term impact — and profitability.
I hold a Master of Public Administration from Northern Michigan University and am a Certified Strategic Planning Facilitator (CSPF) and Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE). Over the years, I’ve helped organizations secure over $20 million in funding — but more importantly, I’ve helped leaders build confidence, structure, and momentum to grow with intention.

My background includes serving as Chief Financial Officer and in senior administrative roles across a range of industries. I hold a Master’s Degree in Business Management and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting — and bring both strategic insight and hands-on expertise to every client relationship.
